The trailer...How do you think it compares to the book??

WIth the "year round" schedule, we would have the same amount of vacation time, it would just be spread out at different times of the year. It would mean a week at Thanksgiving, and extra week during the Winter Break, an extra week for March Break and another week break in the spring, followed by a month off in the summer....There are many advantages and disadvantages of this schedule. It is time to weigh in...
Should schools adopt a year round schedule? Let us know what you think! P.S - I won't read the comments to the class :) "The simple action of standing up, of doing something, of wearing pink shirts on this date can make a loud, clear and bold statement about bullying, and can be the basis for many wonderful conversations and teachable moments. It creates authentic opportunity to address bullying, discrimination, homophobia and an array of social challenges our staff, students, community members and organizations face on a daily bases. Statistics show that 1 in 5 children has been bullied; that bullying occurs on playgrounds every 7 minutes and in classrooms every 25 minutes. This is a real issue that requires support and sincere attention. Please STAND UP to bullying by wearing a pink shirt on Wednesday, February 23rd." Looking for more information? www.pinkshirtday.ca/about http://www.pinkshirtday.ca/ Harshith--your work is in the comments.... Well, the Yellow and Black Day..oops, I mean Black and Yellow Day seemed to be well attended :) It seems like this class likes to organize class challenges (ex. no stepping on gray or no "s" challenges), so, let's go with it! Any ideas for upcoming "THEME DAYS"? Let me know in the comments!
Mrs. Edgar P.S. For those who wanted to check their Caribou Results: http://www.brocku.ca/caribou/check_results.php Just a little note to let you know that our schedule will be a bit different tomorrow due to the Math Contest--- Same subjects, just a different order...
Have a restful night :) Mrs. Edgar Sometimes doing one thing differently can affect your whole day in a different way. Tomorrow, try to eat something different for breakfast than you usually do, and see how it affects your day :) Some other suggestions: Try complementing 2 people in class, put a skip in your step whenever you have a chance, sign a smiley face after your name, notice 3 things on your way to school...any suggestions to add to the list?
Have a great night, and Happy Valentine's Day :), Mrs. Edgar Have a fabulous long weekend :)
Don't forget Monday is Carnaval. Mrs. Edgar For those interested in the opportunity to take part in the Caribou Math Challenge, follow the link to learn more. Caribou Math Contest Congrats Harshith--You were very animated and you seemed very comfortable on stage--we are proud of you! Have a great night, Mrs. Edgar So I was thinking it would be neat if we could have a weekly debate :) Just enter your opinions in the comment section and feel free to comment on other posts as well. I will post a statement, and you can tell me if you agree of disagree and why. This week's topic:
Kids should not have their own cell phone. Agree? Disagree? Let me know what you think!! *** So far I've got an agree from Raina and a disagree from Emad...make sure to read their arguments before you comment--maybe they can change your mind!*** Have a wonderful night, Mrs. Edgar Hello Folks!
Don't forget to have your parents call the school if they would like an interview for Thursday. Hopefully there weren't any surprises...a couple of you have asked about some marks, so I will bring in my mark book tomorrow if you'd like to know what marks you received from Mrs. Montean or Mrs. Sawyer- McCallum. Have a great night, Mrs. Edgar |
