Congratulations to Jakir and Nicolas for receiving Student of the Month
Each week I will post a Math problem which you can complete for a challenge. Post your answers in the comments and I will post the answer with next week's problem :).
In football, the player who kicks the ball is referred to as the punter. During a recent football game, the punter, Khan Bootit, kicked the ball five times. His longest kick was 44 yards and he averaged 35 yards per kick. Each of his kicks was a different positive integer length. Determine the minimum possible length of Khan’s shortest kick. Don't forget to wear pink for tomorrow's Cross-Country Day! We will be running the last two periods. Make sure to bring money if you are planning to purchase a hot dog or drink. Remember all proceeds will go towards Mrs. MacDonald. It is supposed to be cooler tomorrow, so keep that in mind and layer your clothes! We are now into the swing of things!
In Literacy, we are working on summarizing non-fiction texts as well as starting a writing assignment on creating a recount of an event that has made an impact on our lives. In Math, we have started a new unit about measurement. We will be covering area and creating formulas for composite shapes in the next week. Solve the following and record your answer in the "Commments" section of this post:
9 - 5 ÷ (8 - 3) x 2 + 6= Get ready for our first unit Visit http://freerice.com and practice your skills. Each successful answer donates 10 grains of rice to countries in need. It all adds up!
Make sure to record your high score in the comments section of this post! |
